Some of these are provided by ourselves, however, we are constantly looking for links and assets from other internet sites which may provide additional value.

Canine Brief Pain Inventory (CBPI)

The Canine Brief Pain Inventory is a simple psychometric evaluation, initially developed by the University of Pennsylvania. The tool consists of a series of questions. It offers a quick and effective way for owners to evaluate the severity of pain which their dog is experiencing, together with the impact this is having on their pet’s normal daily life. The assessment can also be useful to assess whether a form of treatment (e.g. medication, surgery, supplementation) has had a measurable effect.

This is a simple tool for trying to assess your dog’s mobility by filling in a series of Likert scale questions which upon completion presents an overall score related to your pet’s condition. It was originally based on a concept derived from Hill’s Mobility Calculator but was then further developed by Sydney Animal Hospitals in New South Wales. Although only intended to be a rough guide for carrying out an assessment and is not meant to replace any form of veterinary examination or intervention. It is intended to be a tool which, when used over time and comparing the subsequent results, can help to identify different forms of treatment which are either beneficial or unhelpful for your pet.
